If only we looked after our planet with the same care that we tend our gardens – I believe that the world would be a better place, and we would be living in harmony with nature. Great Gardens of the World is a meeting place where you can discover a wide range of gardens in over 30 countries.

Our website showcases landscape designers, skilled professionals in their field, known for their passion, ingenuity, and creativity, showing us different ways of thinking and approaches to responding to the changing demands of climate change through design.
Gardens are places where creativity can express itself in many different ways. Gardens are an ever-changing living art form, one that changes every day, every month, every season and every year. It is one of the most ancient forms of art, dating back to Mesopotamia and Egypt and shows the long history of man’s relationship with his environment and how the first gardens were designed to recreate Paradise.
Today, more people are interested in sustainability, biodiversity and caring for the environment than they have ever been before – it has become a high priority. A garden is a fortress. A garden can display best practices in horticulture, can promote social inclusion and community participation. Green space and planting are at the heart of any new development, providing both amenity and improving the environment.
Gardens can become a focus, in some cases part of regional history and heritage, attracting school and tourist visits, creating jobs and supporting the local economy. Through the gardens, visitors can see how the latest innovations in water management, natural fertilisers and energy efficiency. They are havens providing opportunities for relaxation.
The evidence is before us as to the status of Climate Change, and without adapting and incorporating change in horticulture, how we garden, much will be lost. We must share our experience and knowledge to ensure the future of these unique gardens. Great Gardens of the World puts you in contact with people who have dedicated their lives to making gardens and landscapes. They are opinion leaders, well-informed and professional. Gardens are like precious jewels, hard to come by, and give so much pleasure to so many.
